HOW TO PREPARE FOR BUCKING HIDES
Your at-home hidework:
Between 1-24 hours ahead of bucking, soak your hide in water (any temperature except hot)
It will float! Either keep it submerged with a rock or press it down with a stick every so often to ensure all parts of the hide rehydrate
As always, discard the salt safely first, but shaking off loose salt in an appropriate area
Hair might fall off. This is fine.
